About us

In 1973, Patrocínia Gomes Parente and Manuel do Patrocínio acquired Quinta de Recião, integrating it into their family’s extensive estate. Their entrepreneurial vision and proactive spirit—values they lived by—have been passed down through generations and continue to inspire everything we do today.

In a commitment to preserving both the cultural heritage and the natural beauty of this exceptional region, Maria Celina, Maria Paulina, and José Luís chose to carry on their parents’ legacy. They gave new purpose to the estate’s historic buildings, opening them to welcome all who wish to visit and become part of the paradise known as Recião.

Always in step with the region’s development, these inseparable siblings also turned their attention to the vineyard. They undertook a major restructuring: replanting most of the vines into narrow horizontal terraces separated by slopes, mechanizing the process, and dedicating each parcel to a single grape variety.

The delicious Moscatel de Hamburgo table grapes, along with Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Malvasia Fina, are just a few of the varieties that reflect the rich diversity of Quinta de Recião’s production. Here, we benefit from a unique microclimate and are deeply committed to excellence in vineyard management throughout the year—applying the finest methods and techniques.

With nearly 20 hectares, Quinta de Recião is primarily dedicated to vineyards, olive groves, and citrus orchards.

Currently, Francisca, a trained pharmacist like her grandmother Patrocínia, and her husband Henrique, a hospitality manager, have left behind the hustle and bustle of Porto to fully embrace and carry forward this family legacy. Without ever straying from the core values passed down through generations, this young couple has introduced thoughtful improvements that promote sustainability and take advantage of digital tools - essential for the future of any endeavor - while maintaining a deep commitment to the environment.

Quinta de Recião operates under an Integrated Production model, which ensures the rational use of natural resources and prioritizes natural regulatory mechanisms over synthetic inputs, thus contributing to truly sustainable agriculture.

On the tourism side, Francisca and Henrique value a close and genuine connection with their guests. Their focus is on ensuring that every visitor feels fully immersed in the culture and traditions of Quinta de Recião, with warm hospitality being a fundamental pillar of this life project.
